Sales and Estimating Engineer

Location: Huddersfield, West Yorkshire

Contract: Full‑time (36.75 hours per week)

Hours: Monday‑Thursday 08:00‑16:50, Friday 08:00‑12:15

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and commercially minded Sales and Estimating Engineer to join our growing team. This is a highly flexible role, designed to make full use of your technical knowledge and industry experience to help drive the company's continued success.

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing new business opportunities, maintaining strong relationships with existing customers, and ensuring our costings and quotations are both competitive and commercially sound.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and develop new customers while managing the needs of existing clients.
  • Prepare detailed costings and quotations for incoming enquiries, ensuring the most cost‑efficient manufacturing methods are applied.
  • Conduct customer visits and provide follow‑up reports to share insights with the wider team.
  • Source and evaluate new suppliers and materials to enhance production efficiency and cost‑effectiveness.
  • Participate actively in regular/monthly sales meetings.
  • Collaborate with production to identify the most efficient manufacturing processes.
  • Contribute to strategic decisions on future equipment investment and production improvements.
  • Support management with ad hoc projects where your expertise can add value.
About You

You’ll be a proactive individual with a strong technical or engineering background and a flair for commercial thinking. You’ll enjoy combining hands‑on estimating with customer‑facing activity, balancing attention to detail with the ability to see the bigger picture.
