Job summary

Park Medical Practice in Preston is seeking 1 salaried GP to cover maternity leave, working 5–6 sessions per week from November 2026. The post is part‑time with a Locum contract for 9 months, offering flexible site work across our Preston sites.

Newly qualified GPs are welcome to apply. You will provide frontline general practice care, participate in on‑call duties, and contribute to a patient‑focused team with EMIS/Accurx/ICE systems.

Qualifications

• Qualified GP with full GMC registration.
• National Performers List registration England.
• Strong time management and organisational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Face-to-face surgery consultations; video/telephone where appropriate.
• Home visits including palliative care support.
• On-call duties; stay until 18:30 at least one day per week.
• Prescribe according to guidance and local contracts.
• Maintain accurate records; manage referrals and repeat prescriptions.
• Collaborate within the practice team and follow protocols.
