Job summary

Riverside Medical Practice in Musselburgh, near Edinburgh, is seeking a GP to join a busy team serving around 20,000 patients. The role involves 20 x 15-minute face-to-face appointments per day, plus review slots and telephone reviews, with dedicated admin time and CPD support.

Employer: Riverside Medical Practice
Location: Musselburgh - 15 minutes to Edinburgh City Centre
Salary: £12,204 per session annually

• 6 sessions: Wednesday to Friday preferred.


• 20 x 15-minute face-to-face appointments per day (inclusive of two review slots booked by you), plus 2 x 7.5 minute telephone review slots booked by you.


• Dedicated admin time each day, plus 10% CPD each week.


• Indemnity provided by Practice.


• Visa sponsorship available.

Your day

GP workload at Riverside is carefully managed, with 20 x 15-minute face-to-face appointments per day (inclusive of two review slots booked by you), plus 2 x 7.5 minute telephone review slots booked by you.

Duty doctor days are shared equally between GPs, and we have processes in place to ensure a safe daily workload for the duty GP.

Home visit days are also shared equally and are supported by our specialist paramedic, who conducts a large proportion of the visits.

We're a busy surgery serving c.20,000 patients, in an area with significant health inequality - so we're looking for GPs who are passionate about working in this type of environment. It's clinically interesting work, with many different types of pathology.

We're located close to both Edinburgh City Centre and East Lothian's fabulous beaches. The Practice is located in a modern, purpose-built health centre with shared kitchen, sun terrace and onsite parking.

We have sound support in place for emergencies, with a specialist paramedic and other members of our large team always available and well-stocked, accessible emergency kits.

Your development

We make time for your professional development, with personal CPD time and clinical catch-ups both built into your working week. If you have special areas of interest you want to develop, there are opportunities to take on quality improvement projects with support from GP Partners.
