About us

Whitewater Health is a progressive, two-site GP practice based in Hook and Hartley Wintney, caring for a growing population of around 18,000 patients. Our ethos is to combine high-quality, patient-centred care with innovation and continuous improvement. We are a forward-thinking, digitally enabled practice, early adopters of new models of care such as Total Triage to improve access and equity for our patients.

Our multidisciplinary team includes GP partners, salaried GPs, advanced clinical practitioners (ACPs), practice nurses, clinical pharmacists, physiotherapists, a dedicated frailty team, and other first-contact practitioners, all working together to provide safe, efficient and responsive care. We have a supportive and inclusive culture, where ideas are welcomed, professional development is encouraged, and teamwork underpins everything we do. Newly qualified clinicians are given structured support, mentoring and CPD time to help them establish themselves confidently in general practice.

We are proud to be consistently high QOF performers, have a strong reputation locally for service improvement, and invest in modern systems and technology to make work more efficient and patient care safer. We encourage a healthy worklife balance and offer a competitive salary, study leave, and peer support, making Whitewater Health an excellent place to develop and grow your GP career.

Job responsibilities
Organisation Summary:

Whitewater Health, occupies two sites in both Hook and Hartley Wintney and is made up of circa 18,000 patients. We are looking for a qualified GP to join our excellent clinical team. You will be primarily based at one site, but you may be asked to work at either site on occasion. You must be able to work on a Monday.

We are a forward-thinking, progressive practice, committed to providing the best possible patient care. We are supportive of new ideas and ways of working and are consistent high QOF Achievers. We adopted Total Triage in July 2025 to ensure equitable access for patients to our services.

Day-to-Day Requirements:

We are recruiting a qualified GP into this role and have created this job specification to reflect this new way of working as a doctor in general practice. There will be no expectation to hold a patient list, and the associated work that goes with that. The position will include:

  • 15-minute appointments, 25 appointments per working day
  • A blend of on-the-day appointments for acute conditions and pre-bookable routine appointments
  • Opportunity to develop skills in managing more complex, chronic conditions
  • Support from the Triage Doctor in each practice
  • Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
  • Covering all the clinical management of the patients you see in your surgery as appropriate including initiating investigations, reviewing results, making referrals to secondary care or to other providers as appropriate
  • Developing treatment plans in consultation with patients and in line with current clinical guidelines
  • Ensuring appropriate follow up and safety netting
  • Recording clear and immediate consultation notes to agreed standards within clinical systems
  • Prescribing generically whenever appropriately and in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary, NICE guidance and Good Prescribing Practice (as defined by British National Formulary guidance)
  • Working with and providing support for other members of the primary health care team

Our practice encourages a strong work-life balance and offers support to GPs to become clinically established within a primary care team. You will be well supported with ongoing professional development (training support, CPD, and peer support). The role will contribute to improving the quality of care of our patients across the network of practices. We would support the right candidate to develop the skills needed for a wider GP role in due course, such as safely manage a patient list and triage the daily clinical demand if this was of interest to them.

The ideal candidate will be professional, caring and passionate about providing quality care.
