Job summary

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is seeking a salaried GP to join a well-established practice in Port Talbot. The role involves 4 sessions across Thursday and Friday, with on-call on Thursday, working alongside two partners in a modern, paper-light setting.

The position includes triage and face-to-face patient care, EPS prescribing, and strong MDT support from cluster paramedics, OT, a Health Board pharmacist and social prescriber. No OOH or weekend hours expected.

Qualifications

• Qualified GP with CCT or equivalent
• Full GMC Registration and UK practice eligibility
• Experience in primary care and medicines management

Responsibilities

• Triage and face-to-face patient consultations
• Carry out all general GP duties
• Prescribe via EPS and manage prescriptions
• Participate in on-call duties on Thursdays
• Record contemporaneous IT-based consultation notes and handle referrals

Job description

We are looking for a salaried GP who will be able to work 4 sessions over Thursday and Friday, with on call on Thursday. You will be working alongside our current team of two partners in our well established, enthusiastic and high achieving practice. We are situated on Baglan Moors in Port Talbot in the purpose-built Port Talbot Resource Centre, which is conveniently located just off the M4 motorway at Baglan., 6500 patients

• Paper light practice using EMIS
• Triage and face to face patients
• All general GP duties
• EPS - electronic prescribing
• Supportive team with cluster paramedic, OT, Health Board pharmacist and social prescriber, Triage and face to face appointments
• On call Equitable share with other Doctors Covering partners Equitable share of workload when a member of the Clinical Team is away Share of cover for doctors when they are on leave On call duties when requested by the partnership Prescribing - EPS Checking and signing repeat prescriptions Dealing with workflow queries, blood results, prescriptions, medical reports and examinations, referral letters (NHS and private) and correspondence(Docman) by the end of their working week Taking an equitable share of the queries and workload from the wider MDT team Making professional autonomous decisions with either self-referred patients or those referred by another member of the MDT team Recording and making contemporaneous I.T. based consultation notes to agreed standards
• Prescribing within locally agreed guidelines
• The working day runs from 08.30 18.30
