Job summary

Library House Surgery is recruiting a salaried GP on a 12‑month maternity cover contract funded through the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme. The post focuses on assessing, diagnosing and treating patients in primary care via 15‑minute consultations, with home visits and prescribing, for registered patients only.

The role involves working with a multidisciplinary team, delivering GP services under the GMS contract, and maintaining CPD and NHS appraisal. UK experience and CCT are required.

Qualifications

• Entry on the GP Register under article 10 of the General and Specialist Medical Practice Order 2003
• Completion of Training certificate (CCT) as a qualified GP

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and treat patients in primary care with autonomous clinical decisions; conduct 15-minute face-to-face sessions and home visits
• Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions, and sign repeat prescriptions
• Deliver GP services under the GMS contract, including preventative care and Schedule 9 certification
• Record clear consultation notes in the clinical system and collect audit data
• Train nurses, medical students and GP trainees within the practice
• Take over patient care from the Out of Hours service at 0800 on working days
• Maintain CPD, an NHS appraisal and an annual personal development plan
