Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Salaried GP to join our friendly, well-established, and high-achieving practice in Tettenhall, Wolverhampton. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centred care to our practice population through a combination of face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations. They will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions, ensuring safe and effective clinical care. The role will include managing routine and urgent appointments, reviewing and actioning clinical correspondence, laboratory results and prescription requests, and working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver excellent patient outcomes. As part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and the ongoing delivery of high standards of care across the practice. Clinical Responsibilities The post holder will:

• Provide comprehensive general medical services to registered patients in accordance with the NHS GP Contract.
• Undertake face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations as appropriate.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses.
• Assess, investigate and refer patients where clinically appropriate.
• Prescribe safely and effectively in accordance with national and local guidance.
• Manage patients presenting with undifferentiated and complex conditions.
• Conduct home visits where clinically necessary.
• Provide health promotion advice and preventative healthcare interventions.
• Maintain accurate, legible and contemporaneous clinical records.
• Participate in safeguarding procedures for children and vulnerable adults.
• Support the management of patients with long-term conditions.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control procedures.

Administrative Responsibilities The post holder will:

• Process pathology and imaging results in a timely manner.
• Action clinical correspondence, hospital letters, and electronic communications.
• Complete medical reports and forms as required.
• Maintain compliance with information governance and data protection requirements.
• Participate in practice audits and quality improvement activities.

Quality and Governance The post holder will:

• Participate in clinical governance activities.
• Contribute to Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) achievement.
• Engage in significant event reviews and learning activities.
• Support CQC compliance and quality improvement initiatives.
• Assist in the development and implementation of clinical policies and protocols.
• Report incidents and near misses in accordance with practice policy.

Teaching and Training The post holder may:

• Support the supervision of medical students, GP trainees, nurses, or other healthcare professionals.
