Job summary

Balance Street Practice in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, seeks a Salaried GP to join our forward-thinking team of six GPs within a modern health centre. Qualifications

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.

  • Experience of working in UK General Practice.

Responsibilities

  • Undertaking routine and urgent clinical consultations, both face-to-face and remotely.
  • Assessing, diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of acute and long-term health conditions.
  • Managing a personal patient list, promoting continuity of care and building strong therapeutic relationships.
  • Providing health promotion, preventative care, and patient education.
  • Prescribing medications and reviewing treatment plans in line with current clinical guidelines.
  • Reviewing laboratory results, clinical correspondence, and patient records using EMIS Web and Anima.
  • Working closely with the practice's multidisciplinary team.
  • Contributing to quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and service development projects.
  • Supporting the training and development of colleagues where appropriate.
  • Participating in practice meetings and contributing to the strategic development of the practice.
  • Maintaining accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical records.
  • Complying with GMC standards, NHS policies, safeguarding requirements, and practice governance procedures.

  • Conduct face-to-face, telephone, and home visit consultations in line with practice requirements.
  • Assess, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with a wide range of health conditions.
  • Make autonomous clinical decisions and develop appropriate treatment and care plans.
  • Screen for disease risk factors and promote health education and preventative care.
  • Prescribe safely and in accordance with local and national prescribing guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and contemporaneous clinical records.
  • Manage referrals, admissions, discharges, and follow-up care as appropriate.
  • Support clinical audit, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.
Professional & Organisational Responsibilities
  • Comply with all practice policies, including confidentiality, safeguarding, information governance, health and safety, and infection prevention and control.
  • Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in practice meetings, training, appraisal, and continuing professional development.
  • Contribute to service development, clinical governance, and quality assurance activities.
  • Support effective use and maintenance of electronic patient records.
