We are a friendly,busy, dual-site practice serving 24,000 patients in Herne Bayon the beautiful north Kent coast. We have an exciting opportunity for amotivated and committed Salaried GP to join our supportive andwell-organised team for between 4-6 sessions a week.

We areseeking an enthusiastic individual with a patient-focused approach and acommitment to delivering high-quality care. The ideal candidate will beflexible, proactive, and able to travel between our two sites.

Main duties of the job

Thesuccessful candidate will work as an autonomous practitioner,responsible for providing high-quality medical services to our practicepopulation. This includes delivering an excellent standard of clinical carewhile complying with the GMS contract and adhering to GMC standardsfor good medical practice. The role will also involve a care home ward round.

Thepost-holder will contribute to the effective management of the practice, leadby example, and maintain a positive, collaborative working relationship withthe multidisciplinary team.

Ourpartnership is led by five partners and supported by a highlyexperienced and comprehensive management team. We are an integral partof the Herne Bay Primary Care Network (PCN), working closely with ourneighbouring practice to provide integrated, patient-centred care.

Job responsibilities

Main duties of the job

  • Provide a full range of medical services as defined in the core GMS contract, additional and enhanced services where appropriate.
  • Provide other general medical services to meet identified patient need.
  • Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems whether self-referred, or referred from other healthcare works within the organisation.
  • Assess the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
  • Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
  • Develop care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice; disease management protocols, provide counselling and health education.
  • Work within current ICB policy for prescribing.
  • Be available and accessible to patients at all times as agreed.
  • Maximise the effective use of current clinical computer systems. Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to an agreed standard.
  • Undertake all duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care. (These duties will include reports/cremation forms).
  • To take part in, and lead on, areas including clinical auditing and data collection.
  • Support under-graduate student training in the surgery.
  • Support GP registrar training in practice.
  • Attend team meetings and other clinical meetings as necessary

Experience
  • Commitment to and experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary and skill mixed team environment
  • Experience of working to achieve standards within the Quality and Outcome Framework (QOF)
  • Clinical Governance

  • Organised and efficient in record keeping and completion of paperwork

Qualifications
  • Registered GP with the GMC.
  • Must possess the right to work in the UK and be on the NHS Performers List.
