Job summary

The Chislehurst Partnership seeks an experienced part-time Salaried GP (4-6 sessions) to support our Chislehurst community. Start date ASAP preferred. Role involves 4-6 sessions per week with possible job shares and work across both practice sites.

Responsibilities include independent and team care, triage duty alongside another doctor, and maintaining high standards of patient care and safety. EMIS/Docman experience and strong records are essential.

Qualifications

  • Full GMC registration and eligibility to practise in the UK.
  • MRCGP qualification with current appraisal and validation.
  • Appropriate defence indemnity in place.
  • Registration on the Performers List.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care across two GP practice sites to maintain continuity.
  • Participate in the duty doctor triage rota and patient management.
  • Record accurate clinical notes and manage patient records securely.
  • Work independently and with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ensure safeguarding and patient safety within clinical governance.

Job summary

We have a vacancy for an experienced part-time Salaried GP (4-6 sessions) to support our Chislehurst community. This opportunity has arisen as we prepare for the retirement of one of our highly valued GP Partners, who has dedicated over 25 years of service to our patients and practice. As such, we are looking for a compassionate, committed, and experienced GP to help continue the high standard of care and continuity our patients have come to expect.

We would ideally like the successful candidate to start as soon as possible.

The role is for 4-6 sessions per week. We are happy to consider job shares.

Due to room availability, the avaliable working days are Monday - Wednesday.

The successful candidate will be expected to work across both practice sites.

Main duties of the job

The suitable candidate should feel comfortable working independently as well as alongside our multi-disciplinary medical team. The role will include pro-rata involvement with the duty doctor triage rota working alongside another duty doctor at the opposite practice site. We expect our team to always act within your professional boundaries, providing appropriate care for patients from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care. You will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients within the general practice. The ideal candidate will demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process.

You will possess the necessary skills, knowledge and behaviour by promoting and protecting the interests of service users and carers, communicating appropriately and effectively, working within the limits of your knowledge and skills, refer & delegate appropriately, respect confidentiality, manage risk, report concerns about safety, be honest and trustworthy and keep records of your work.

About us

We are dynamic, patient focused and high achieving partnership that strives to provide first class care for our 24,000 patients.

Our clinical system is EMIS which integrates with AccuRx to communicate with our patients. Home visiting is supported by our practice Paramedic and Advanced Nurse Practitioner who work alongside the Bromley Healthcare District Nursing team. We are part of a PCN which has several additional practitioners including Clinical Pharmacists, Social Prescribers, a Mental Health Practitioner, First Contact Physiotherapist and Paramedic.

Job responsibilities

Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the Practice Manager or GP Partners, dependent on current and evolving Practice workload and staffing levels.

Person Specification
Experience and skills

Essential

  • Ability to both work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Proven ability to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of own clinical practice
  • Understanding of the importance of evidence-based practice
  • Good MS Office and clinical system IT knowledge
  • Understanding of the spectrum of clinical governance processes
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) including recording of accurate clinical notes
  • Ability to work within own scope of practice and understand when to refer to GP colleagues
  • Experience of triage and duty doctor
  • Understanding of safeguarding adults and children
  • Understanding of the importance of evidence-based practice

Desirable

  • Minimum of two years as a salaried GP
  • Experience of medicines management
  • Understanding and knowledge of QOF and enhanced service
  • Previous EMIS web and Docman experience
  • Experience working at triage or duty doctor
  • Experience with home visits
Qualifications

  • Performers List registration noting that confirmation on this list is adequate for DBS confirmation
