Descripción del empleo

We are looking for an enthusiastic, thoughtful and dynamic GP to join our friendly, cohesive team. We would love to welcome someone who combines sound clinical judgement with intellectual curiosity, a commitment to evidence-based medicine, and a genuine enthusiasm for learning, teaching and working collaboratively.

We are a thriving, well-established practice of 11,500 patients, situated in Godalming and close to the Surrey Hills.

Our list size of 11,500 equates to an average of fewer than 200 patients per doctor per session worked. We anticipate offering our new colleague a reduced list initially, allowing time to settle in and get to know the practice and its patients.

The role is for six sessions per week, on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

We have a strong, supportive team spanning GPs, nursing, allied health professionals and our experienced reception and administrative colleagues. We value the different skills and perspectives everyone brings, and believe that the best care comes from working well together.

We take our work seriously, but we also enjoy working together. Daily mid-morning coffee and informal lunchtime gatherings are part of our culture, giving us opportunities to share ideas, discuss clinical challenges, support one another and maintain the collegiality that makes general practice rewarding.

Main duties of the job

We would love to hear from a GP who is:

  • Clinically excellent and patient-centred, committed to safe, effective, evidence-based care
  • Curious and engaged, keen to keep learning, reflect on practice and embrace new ideas.
  • A collaborative team player, who values colleagues contributions and enjoys working together.
  • Enthusiastic about education, whether through formal teaching, supporting trainees or sharing knowledge and experience.
  • Compassionate and thoughtful, with the judgement and communication skills to manage the complexity and uncertainty of everyday general practice.

We are interested in the person as much as their experience. We want a colleague who will contribute to our team, bring their own strengths and ideas, and help us continue to develop as a practice.
