Job description

Weare seeking a dedicated and compassionate Salaried GP to join ourwell-established and growing general practice team. The successful candidatewill provide high-quality, patient-centred primary care services, contributingto the delivery of comprehensive healthcare for our diverse patient population.

Main duties of the job

Youwill be responsible for the clinical care of patients within a general practicesetting, including diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of a wide rangeof medical conditions. The role offers the opportunity to work within asupportive, multidisciplinary team and participate in service development,quality improvement, and training initiatives.

Job responsibilities

ClinicalCare

  • Providehigh-quality medical care to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, andfollow-up of a wide range of medical conditions.
  • Conductroutine consultations, health checks, and preventative healthcareservices, ensuring comprehensive care for individuals and families.
  • Providecare for patients with long-term conditions, including chronic diseasemanagement, and implement care plans in collaboration with patients andthe multidisciplinary team.
  • Prescribemedication, tests, and investigations according to guidelines and clinicaljudgment.
  • Undertakehome visits where appropriate and necessary for patient care.
  • Developand manage patient care plans, ensuring patient safety and adherence toclinical guidelines.
  • Workwith patients to promote health, well-being, and prevention of illnessthrough education and interventions.
  • Participatein the management of urgent, acute, and emergency cases as part of thegeneral practice team.
  • Workcollaboratively with practice nurses, healthcare assistants, and othermultidisciplinary team members to deliver holistic care.

Infection Prevention & Control

In accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008, the postholder will actively participate in the prevention and control of infectionwithin the capacity of their role. TheAct requires the post holder to attend infection prevention and controltraining on induction and at regular updates and to take responsibility for thepractical application of the training in the course of their work. Infectionprevention and control must be included in any personal development plan orappraisal.

Knowledge and Expertise
  • Knowledge of national clinical guidelines and healthcare policies relevant to general practice
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, mental health, and long-term condition management
Qualifications
  • Fully registered GP with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • Recognised qualifications in General Practice (e.g., MRCGP or equivalent)
  • Relevant post-graduate qualifications (e.g., diplomas in dermatology, family planning, or other specialties)

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, if required
