Job summary

Evodia Limited in the defence sector seeks an experienced Safety Manager to join the Special Projects Tactical Communications (SPTC) team on a hybrid contract in Bristol.

You will lead safety assessments, hazard logs and Safety Management Plans for complex defence projects, ensuring DEF STAN compliance and ALARP.

You’ll engage stakeholders including Chief Engineers and suppliers, support governance activities, and ensure documentation meets MOD/Defence standards, with SC clearance essential.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in system safety policy and safety management tools within defence acquisitions.
  • Strong knowledge of Defence Standards (DEF STAN 00-056) and safety policy procedures in defence projects.
  • Proven ability to manage safety risk across the project lifecycle with compliance and safety integrity.
  • Member of a recognised Safety Institute or professional body; Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status desirable.
  • Experience delivering safety into Land, Air, or Maritime military environments is a plus.
  • SC Clearance is essential; DV clearance desirable; UK nationality is required.

Job description

Are you an experienced Safety Engineer with a strong background in Defence systems and Safety Management? We're working with a key client in the defence sector based in Bristol, seeking a Safety Manager to join their Special Projects Tactical Communications (SPTC) team. This role offers a hybrid working pattern, two days per week onsite, and a contract term until the end of June 2027, with potential for extension.

Who you are

  • Member of a recognised Safety Institute or professional body, with a Chartered or Incorporated Engineering status being desirable.
  • Experience delivering safety into the Land, Air, or Maritime military environments is a plus.
  • SC Clearance is essential, DV clearance is desirable, and UK nationality is required.

  • Day Rate: Up to £570 per day (inside IR35)
  • Hours: 7.5 hours/day
