Job summary

EDF Energy in Bristol is seeking a Safety Manager to coordinate and oversee nuclear safety activities for Sizewell C. You will work with stakeholders across EDF EPR Engineering UK, Sizewell C client, and safety teams to influence strategy and deliver safety studies.

The role requires leadership in a highly regulated environment, strong nuclear safety knowledge, and a track record of managing multiple workstreams and technical deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of Nuclear Safety, particularly in relation to EPR or PWR designs.
  • Experience leading or managing in a highly regulated industry.
  • Experience reviewing complex technical safety documentation and deliverables.
  • Experience coordinating activities across multidisciplinary teams and organisations.
  • Fluent English language skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage interfaces between Responsible Designer organisations, the Sizewell C client organisation, and EDF EPR Engineering's Nuclear Safety & Environment Discipline.
  • Coordinate activities that support replication of nuclear safety studies from Hinkley Point C to Sizewell C.
  • Oversee delivery of nuclear safety activities within a highly regulated environment and influence technical strategy.
  • Lead cross‑organisation collaboration, manage key risks and opportunities, ensuring regulatory compliance.

Hinkley Point C and similar projects. Working as part of an integrated team, EPR Engineering supports construction and commissioning while preparing design-replication feasibility and related engineering activities.
