Job summary

Greenstar is seeking a safety-focused Banksman to help manage vehicle movements at our Widnes site. This hands-on, outdoor role requires clear communication with drivers, weighbridge operators and site teams to keep yard movements safe and efficient.

Ideal candidates will be comfortable working outdoors, be observant and able to work independently or as part of a busy team, with prior experience in yards, recycling, logistics or similar operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely control vehicle movements throughout the yard.
• Give clear instructions and signals to drivers.
• Communicate with weighbridge operators and operational teams.
• Ensure first-time visitors complete the required site induction.
• Monitor compliance with site operating times and traffic rules.
• Report drivers who fail to follow movement instructions.
• Ensure PPE requirements are followed.
• Keep the yard clear of debris, obstacles and potential hazards.
• Arrange cleaning support when required.
• Assist other site teams when needed.
