Role Overview

Safety Assurance Engineer required to focuses on the safety, reliability, and compliance of IT systems. Your main goal, as part of a security team is to make sure that the IT infrastructure and software do not compromise the safety of people, the environment, or our assets.

This role will be working across IT engineering, cybersecurity, and safety engineering.

Main Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment
  • Analyze IT systems for potential hazards or failure modes that could impact safety.
  • Conduct risk assessments (e.g., FMEA, HAZOP, or fault tree analysis).
Safety Assurance Activities
  • Develop Safety Assurance Cases or Safety Management Plans.
  • Verify that systems meet safety and regulatory requirements (e.g., IEC 61508, ISO 26262, DO-178C, or EN 50128).
System Validation & Testing
  • Review and test IT systems to ensure that software, networks, and infrastructure behave safely under normal and fault conditions.
Change Management
  • Assess the safety impact of changes in hardware, software, or configuration.
  • Approve and document changes through a controlled process.
Compliance & Certification
  • Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • Support audits and certification processes.
Interface Between IT and Safety
  • Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, operations, and safety teams to maintain the integrity and availability of critical systems.
