Safety Engineer

Shifts Monday Friday Days

We are looking for a highly experienced Design Safety Engineer to be the go‑to technical authority on product and process safety for innovative hydrogen and process plant equipment. This isn’t your standard H&S role; it’s about embedding safety into design from the ground up.

Safety Engineer responsibilities:
  • Advising a talented design team, interpreting legislation, and ensuring compliance with PED, ATEX, DSEAR, and PSSR, translating regs into practical engineering solutions.
  • Leading design risk assessments, guiding design reviews, defining hazardous area zoning, and ensuring trial plans and equipment meet the highest safety standards.
Safety Engineer required Skills & Experience:
  • Senior/Principal-level safety engineering in hydrogen, oil & gas, pharma, or process industries.
  • Strong working knowledge of PED, ATEX, DSEAR, PSSR.
  • Ability to read drawings, lead HAZOPs, and produce compliance documentation.
  • Experience with high‑pressure systems and explosive atmosphere controls.
  • Proven experience advising design teams to ensure compliance is being met within product and equipment design.
