Job description
Safety Compliance Coordinator – Championing Compliance and Culture Across Estate Operations

VIVO Defence Services is looking for a dedicated and detail-driven Safety Compliance Coordinator to oversee and uphold the highest standards of health, safety, and regulatory compliance across our estate operations. This role demands a proactive, knowledgeable professional who can lead by example, ensuring that both statutory and internal safety requirements are consistently met or exceeded.

The Role

As the organisation’s appointed Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC), you will be responsible for managing all temporary works associated with repair and maintenance activities in accordance with current regulations and best practice. You will also act as the designated Responsible Person for both Asbestos and Legionella compliance, ensuring that all inspections, testing, remedial works, and documentation are completed accurately and on schedule.

Your remit will include maintaining and managing a range of essential compliance records, including vehicle safety inspections, PAT testing, ladder and tower scaffold inspections, and the technical training matrix. Ensuring training is timely and complete is critical to maintaining our compliance readiness and operational efficiency. You will conduct site inspections, support completion checks, and provide technical advice and feedback to both operational teams and contractors, reinforcing a culture of quality and safety.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal departments, contractors, and wider operational teams, supporting audits, inspections, and investigations as required, while promoting a strong safety-first ethos across the organisation. This is a collaborative role that requires excellent organisational skills, confident communication, and the ability to advise, influence, and ensure compliance across all levels of the business.

What You'll Bring

To excel in this position, you will bring proven experience in a safety or compliance-focused role, ideally within property management, housing, construction, or a similar environment. You must possess a sound understanding of statutory responsibilities around Temporary Works, Asbestos, and Legionella, and be confident managing technical records and coordinating inspections.

Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation is essential, and proficiency with Microsoft Office—particularly Excel—is required to manage registers and compliance data.

While not essential, holding qualifications such as TWC, BOHS P405, Legionella Responsible Person training, or a NEBOSH Certificate would be advantageous. Familiarity with managing safety within social housing or large estate portfolios will also support your success in this role.

This position will require regular travel across the South of the UK, including occasional overnight stays depending on operational needs. VIVO Defence Services offers excellent opportunities for professional development, and we are committed to helping our team members thrive. If you’re passionate about safety and compliance, and want to make a tangible difference in a vital public service environment, this is the role for you.
