A pioneering education group in Oxford is seeking a Safeguarding Team Leader to manage safeguarding advisors and oversee critical cases. The ideal candidate must have significant experience in safeguarding along with relevant qualifications. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential, as well as flexibility to travel across campuses. This role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on student welfare through effective safeguarding practices.
As a Safeguarding Team Leader, you will lead and manage a team of Designated Safeguarding Advisors and Transition and Retention Advisors. You’ll provide regular reflective supervision, offer expert guidance, and oversee safeguarding cases to ensure risks are effectively managed. Your role will involve ensuring timely and appropriate interventions, maintaining high standards of record-keeping and compliance. You will support students facing safeguarding and welfare concerns, actively contributing to multi‑agency meetings and internal support processes. Additionally, you will act as a key liaison with external partners such as social care, the police, and Virtual Schools to promote effective collaboration and positive outcomes for learners.
This is a permanent, full‑time role working term‑time only (FTE 0.88) based at our City of Oxford College, to support all our campuses across Oxfordshire.
The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in a safeguarding role, with a strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and best practices. You will hold a Level 3 qualification or above, alongside recent Advanced Safeguarding training. You’ll have experience managing and supporting staff, with the ability to lead, motivate, and inspire a team. Strong communication, problem‑solving, and risk management skills are essential, as is a full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across campuses. This role requires travel across multiple sites, so a flexible approach is essential.
