Job summary

Isle of Wight NHS Trust is seeking a Safeguarding Practitioner (Child) on a 9-month secondment to support the safeguarding service at St Mary's Hospital on the Isle of Wight. You will collaborate with staff across Trust services, provide operational safeguarding support, and help deliver safeguarding training while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse, Social Work qualification and Allied health qualification are essential.
• Teaching and assessment qualification is desirable.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development is required.
• UK registration and safeguarding experience are essential.

Responsibilities

• Support safeguarding service across the Trust, advising on safeguarding matters.
• Liaise daily with clinical and non-clinical areas to identify safeguarding cases and ensure correct procedures are followed.
• Record, interpret and present health information impacting risk and needs assessments.
• Explain complex safeguarding information clearly to allied health and social care professionals.
