Safeguarding Officer (Girl's Academy)
Location: Staplewood Campus
Hours: Part-Time (18.75 Hours per week), Permanent Contract
Criminal Record Check: DBS Enhanced with Child's Barred List
We are seeking a Safeguarding Officer to drive a proactive safeguarding culture within the Girls Academy, ensuring the welfare and safety of all players and staff.
Responsibilities
- Advocate and guardian of the girls' and women's game, promoting the welfare of all players and supporting their safety in all environments, including online.
- Develop and sustain a culture of safer working, high performance and respectful behaviour.
- Use the safeguarding management platform, CPOMS, to manage safeguarding cases and monitor the Girls Academy, acting as a point of contact for any safeguarding and welfare concerns.
- Maintain accurate, confidential and up‑to‑date records of all concerns, ensuring secure retention in accordance with data protection legislation and that relevant risk assessments are in place.
- Support the club to proactively develop its approach to safeguarding by partaking in annual safeguarding professional development and applying the training to provide the Girls Academy with credible safeguarding and welfare support, advice, and guidance.
- Coordinate the delivery of safeguarding awareness campaigns and staff training where required.
Shift Pattern
- Tuesdays: 5.30pm to 8.30pm
- Wednesdays or Thursdays: 5.30pm to 8pm
- Fridays: 9.30am to 1.30pm
- Additional 9.25 hours per week for administrative work and attending fixtures (typically Saturdays and Wednesdays at 2pm)
Essential Skills and Experience
- Strong safeguarding knowledge and the ability to manage multiple safeguarding cases simultaneously.
- Understanding of how to work safely with children, young people and adults at risk, upholding safeguarding best practice.
Essential Qualifications (must be completed before starting)
- FA Safeguarding Children Course
- FA Welfare Officers Course
