Croydon Health Services NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Band 6 Safeguarding Children Nurse to join the Integrated Safeguarding Team. This role offers development toward a Band 7 Safeguarding Advisor and involves providing specialist safeguarding support across the Trust to ensure safe, child-centred care.

You will work with health professionals, social care, police and education to coordinate safeguarding responses and improve outcomes for vulnerable children and families.

Formación

• Public health nursing qualification and degree in nursing or equivalent.
• Desirable: Studying related child protection subject or working towards.
• Essential: Working as a Health Visitor for one year or more and experience of managing risk.
• Desirable: Experience of audits and quality improvement initiatives.
• Essential: Ability to analyse complex information from multiple sources.
• Desirable: Worked with complex families and multi-agency team to safeguard children.

Responsabilidades

• Provide safeguarding children advice and support to practitioners across Croydon Health Services NHS Trust.
• Gather, review and analyse health information to contribute to safeguarding enquiries from Children's Social Care, the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub and partner agencies.
• Complete health information reports and chronologies, ensuring information shared is accurate and timely.
• Support health representation at strategy meetings and professional discussions by providing relevant health information.
• Participate in the safeguarding duty system, including reviewing referrals, responding to enquiries, triaging concerns and escalating.
• Liaise with health visitors, school nurses, GPs, social workers, Children’s Social Care, Police and other partner agencies to promote information sharing.
• Support discharge planning and risk management for children and young people with safeguarding concerns.
• Maintain accurate safeguarding records in line with governance standards.
