Job summary

Whittington Health NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Safeguarding Adult Advisor on a 6-12 month secondment. The role supports training and education for staff, providing expert safeguarding advice in line with Trust policies and national standards.

You will help develop QA frameworks and monitor mandatory safeguarding training in collaboration with the learning and development team. The post requires a registered health and/or social care professional with substantial safeguarding experience

Qualifications

• Experience in safeguarding adults within NHS/health and social care settings is essential.
• Educated to degree level in health or social care or equivalent.
• Teaching qualification or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and lead change.
• Knowledge of DoLS framework and quality monitoring processes.

Job Title: Safeguarding Adult Advisor Note: This vacancy is a secondment for 6-12 months. Whittington Health is an integrated hospital and community Trust, covering Islington and Haringey, with services in other London Boroughs. As the safeguarding adult service at Whittington Health expands, an exciting opportunity for an experienced, registered health and/or social care professional has arisen. Safeguarding adults practice is embedded throughout the Trust, with a recent external audit of the Trust's safeguarding practice finding significant assurance in this area. The innovative training delivered across three local London Boroughs and partner agencies around use of the Mental Capacity Act was a previous finalist in the HSJ Best Educational Programme in the NHS. Person Specification

Experience

Essential

• At least 3 years Band 6 experience
• Educated to degree level in health or social care or clinical education related subject or equivalent experience
• Teaching qualification or equivalent
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, with differing levels of responsibility and professional backgrounds
• Ability to effectively lead change and able to enthuse, motivate and involve individuals and teams
• Quality improvement processes
• Recent and extensive clinical post registration experience
• Knowledge of changes to the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards framework, and an understanding of the implications for an acute Trust.
• Previous experience of chairing and organising meetings
• Knowledge of quality monitoring processes
