Please note this role is currently only being advertised to staff members who are currently working within the Kent and MedwayICS Charles Dickens is 16 chair treatment unit delivering SACT and supportive treatments to patients with oncological cancers. Applicants should be highly motivated, enthusiastic and pro‑active. The post holder will work as part of the nursing team in supporting the ward manager to run an effective and safe ward. Charles Dickens treats patients throughout their treatment pathway providing individualised, compassionate and informed care. Successful applicants should be prepared to support the transition to a 6‑day service if future demands necessitate. Please note that this role may often attract a high level of applications. Main duties of the job: You should be able to combine autonomy with team working sensitivity and professionalism. You will be expected to adopt a holistic, pro‑active and dynamic approach, being responsible for the delivery of a high standard of care and service to the patients. You will, in association with your colleagues, be required to support patients and their carers on all aspects of their care, be they newly diagnosed, or being treated with palliative intent.
