Job summary

Cheshire East Council is seeking a SAB Training Officer to join the Adult Safeguarding Team on a 0.6 FTE basis (21 hours/week). The role is initially a 12-month fixed-term contract.

You will design, develop and deliver engaging safeguarding training across diverse settings including care homes, communities, and online platforms. The successful candidate will have extensive safeguarding knowledge, strong communication skills and experience training varied audiences.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of adult safeguarding and the Care Act 2014.
  • Experience delivering training to diverse audiences.
  • Design, develop and evaluate training programmes.
  • Experience delivering training in care homes, community venues and virtual platforms (e.g., Teams).
  • Ability to explain complex safeguarding concepts clearly.
  • Experience designing, delivering and evaluating training programmes.
  • Engage learners via workshops, case studies, e-learning and group discussions.
  • Confident in managing challenging questions and sensitive discussions.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Adult Safeguarding Team as the SAB Training Officer.This is a 0.6 FTE position (21 hours per week, work pattern to be negotiated), offered initially on a 12-month fixed-term basis.

About you

You will facilitate and deliver Adult Safeguarding multi-agency training. Providing professional and vocational training for multi-agency staff and the third sector within the context of statutory, national and regional developments and the standards laid down by the Cheshire East Safeguarding Adults Board.You will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering engaging training programmes focused on Adult Safeguarding. Training will be delivered in a variety of settings, including care homes, community venues, and virtual platforms such as Microsoft Teams. The successful candidate will have:
  • Extensive knowledge of adult safeguarding and the Care Act 2014
  • Awareness of current safeguarding themes, risks, and emerging issues.
  • Ability to explain complex safeguarding concepts clearly and confidently.
  • Skilled in presenting to diverse audiences, from frontline practitioners to senior leaders.
  • Excellent written communication for developing training materials, reports, and guidance.
  • Experience designing, delivering, and evaluating training programmes.
  • Ability to engage learners using a variety of methods, including workshops, case studies, e-learning, and group discussions.
  • Confidence in managing challenging questions and sensitive discussions.
