Job summary

Interface Recruitment is assisting a client in Leeds with a SaaS Data Specialist/Data Lead role offering true work-from-home arrangements. The position leads a data team responsible for T‑SQL, Power BI, and API solutions, delivering high-quality MI for applications and working with stakeholders to define reporting needs.

You will shape the data group, oversee reports, maintain data schemas, and stay current with new technologies to enhance capabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a data team in a SaaS environment.
• Ability to design and implement data reporting in Power BI for SaaS applications.
• Strong stakeholder collaboration to capture MI requirements and translate them into reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead, shape and define the Data Group practice area.
• Oversee architecture, design, development and maintenance of Power BI reports within applications.
• Lead from the front, deliver high-quality work and develop the data team.
• Ensure accuracy, integrity, and security of all solutions delivered by the team.
• Work with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate into effective reports.
• Coordinate with Project team to plan delivery of reports, APIs and data deliverables.
• Maintain robust reporting data schemas in SQL to enable efficient reporting.
• Stay updated with technologies to improve data capabilities.

Purpose

Leadership of the data team who are responsible for providing T-SQL, PowerBI and API solutions to be leveraged within their applications

Providing high quality, robust SaaS Management Information solutions

Liaising with stakeholders to understand, document and implement MI requirements

Responsibilities

• Lead, shape and define the Data Group practice area
• Overseeing the architecture, design, development and maintenance of Power BI reports leveraged within applications
• Leading from the front, delivering high quality work and developing our team of data specialists
• Ensuring accuracy, integrity, and security of all solutions delivered by the team
• Working with stakeholders to understand requirements & translating into effective reports
• Working with the Project team to formulate detailed, time based plans for the delivery of reports, API’s and other date related deliverables
• Maintaining robust reporting data schema within SQL data that facilitates efficient reporting solutions for our clients and ourselves
• Staying updated with the latest technologies to continuously improve our data capabilities

Skills and Knowledge

• Highly skilled and experienced Data Specialist with experience working in a SaaS Company
• Leadership, able to manage a team of dedicated data specialists and help grow their skills
• Strong inter-personal skills, able to communicate clearly and confidently to varying levels of individuals internally and externally
• Self-starter, takes ownership, leads from the front - able to break down a project into actionable steps and use initiative to move these forward
• Have the confidence to work on their own but also to ask for help or direction when required
• Strong time management skills with the ability to deliver to a deadline
• Diligence and attention to detail to ensure work is delivered to a high standard

Experience of the following is essential

• Power BI – advanced knowledge
• SQL – ideally advanced knowledge
• Understanding data structures and imparting this knowledge to others
• Strong statistical analysis and data mining skills
• Leading a team of data / Power BI analysts
• Leading on multiple internal and external projects concurrently

Experience of the following would be useful

• Producing MI to be consumed by senior leaders
• Knowledge of integration with HR systems such as Workday, SAP, Oracle and ESR
