• Oversee delivery of RICEFW, configuration, custom development, remediation, retrofit, integrations and technical enablement.
• Manage build plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues and readiness across deployment waves.
• Coordinate with testing, release, cutover and service transition teams to ensure build outputs are complete and documented.
• Provide concise reporting, escape material risks and capture lessons learned for future waves.

Our client is seeking a S4 Build Manager to support a large-scale, global SAP S/4HANA transformation programme in the IT sector. Based in the United Kingdom, this contract role will provide end-to-end governance and coordination of build services across the global template, pilot and deployment waves.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the build management framework across design handover, configuration, development, technical testing, defect resolution, release readiness and transition to downstream testing.
• Coordinate build services across multiple systems integrators and specialist suppliers, ensuring clear accountability, quality and delivery standards.
• Act as the bridge between functional stakeholders, solution architects and technical delivery teams, translating approved requirements into feasible and traceable build outcomes.
• Promote SAP S/4HANA standardisation, Clean Core principles, fit-to-standard delivery and effective development governance.
• Oversee the delivery of RICEFW, configuration, custom development, remediation, retrofit, integrations and technical enablement.
• Manage build plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, capacity, quality gates and readiness across concurrent deployment waves.
• Coordinate with testing, release, cutover and service transition teams to ensure build outputs are complete, documented and ready for deployment.
• Provide concise reporting, escape material risks and ensure lessons learned are applied to subsequent delivery waves.

Job Requirements:

• Significant experience in global SAP S/4HANA implementation or transformation programmes, including phased or wave-based delivery.
• Strong techno-functional SAP S/4HANA expertise, with an understanding of business processes, solution design, configuration and custom development.
• Knowledge of RICEFW delivery, ABAP, SAP Business Technology Platform, Fiori, integration, data, security, transports and testing disciplines.
• Strong understanding of Clean Core, fit-to-standard, technical debt, remediation, retrofit and development governance.
• Experience managing complex build services within a multi-supplier systems integration environment.
• Demonstrable capability in supplier management, delivery assurance, estimation, dependency management, governance and escalation.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical matters in clear business terms.
• Experience with selective data transition or Bluefield SAP S/4HANA programmes, custom-code remediation and Azure DevOps or comparable work management tools.

Working Environment:

The role will work closely with functional leads, product owners, architecture, integration, data, security, testing, release, cutover and service transition teams. It will also involve managing relationships with multiple external delivery partners and maintaining oversight of build readiness across global markets and deployment waves.
