Job summary

The University of Surrey's School of Veterinary Medicine is seeking an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our Spay & Neuter Clinic at The Mayhew in London. You will support fourth-year students, delivering high standards of patient care and animal welfare within a dynamic educational setting.

This role emphasizes coaching, mentoring and maintaining clinical expertise in a supportive team, with part-time, term-time working patterns and generous leave.

Qualifications

• Qualified RVN with experience in dogs and cats in a veterinary clinical setting.
• Ability to coach, mentor and inspire students.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Good organisational and health & safety knowledge in practice.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of the student-led Spay & Neuter Clinic.
• Provide expert nursing support, guidance and supervision throughout patient journey.
• Assist in admission, anaesthesia, surgery, postoperative monitoring, and discharge.
• Contribute to veterinary education and maintain clinical skills in a collaborative environment.
