Job summary

Oliver Bernard is partnering with a leading global quantitative investment firm to hire an experienced Rust Engineer. The role focuses on building scalable distributed systems and internal compute infrastructure to support trading and research operations.

Hybrid work with in London, 4 days in the office, reducing to 3 after 6 months. You will design production-grade distributed systems, build internal frameworks, and operate Kubernetes-based microservices while collaborating with stakeholders

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong commercial C++ experience (required).
• Interest in or experience with Rust.
• Experience with containerised microservices and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and production infrastructure.
• Experience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop production-grade distributed systems.
• Build internal frameworks and platforms used across the business.
• Develop and operate Kubernetes-based microservices.
• Collaborate with investment and engineering stakeholders.
• Support highly available, low-latency production environments.
