A leading interpreting and translation service provider in the UK is urgently recruiting freelance Russian interpreters and translators based in Docaster. The role requires candidates to interpret for legal, health, and government services while ensuring 100% accuracy. Applicants must be fluent in English and a second language, with formal qualifications in interpreting or translation preferred. This is a self-employed position offering flexible hours, the ability to work from home, and ongoing support from the in-house team.

Qualifications

• Formal qualifications listed: DPSI, Community Interpreting, NRPSI/CIOL/ITI, translation degree, or other interpreting qualification.

We are urgently recruiting for freelance Russian interpreters and Translators based in Docaster to work within various settings such as the NHS, Local Authorities, Police, Probation and other public and private organisations.

The Job

Interpreting involves listening to, understanding and memorizing content in the original ‘source’ language, then reproducing the speech into the ‘target’ language with 100% accuracy.

You will:

• Interpret for people using legal, health and local government services
• Check the non-English speakers understanding after each sentence
• Conference, consecutive and public service interpreting
• Dealing with highly confidential information
• Liaise between the service user and service provider

Requirements

• Fluent in English and another language

• Formal qualifications such as:
• Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI)
• Community Interpreting
• NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registered is advantageous
