Job summary

NHS Scotland is seeking experienced midwives to join Lochaber Integrated Midwifery Team in Fort William for remote and rural practice with strong continuity of care.

The team provides caseload midwifery care to around 200 pregnant women annually, offering birth in the Midwifery Unit at Belford Hospital or at home for primary care, with on-call support and close links to larger obstetric teams.

Qualifications

• NMC registered to practise midwifery in the UK.
• Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in NIPE would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide caseload midwifery care to around 200 women annually.
• Deliver midwife-led care with options for birth at Belford Hospital or at home.
• Work autonomously within a small team and coordinate with obstetric/neonatal services.
• Be flexible for 24/7 on-call service across.remote and rural practice.
