Job summary

Beach Baker is working with a respected independent property consultancy in the South West, seeking a Rural Development Surveyor to join its Salisbury team.

The role combines estate management, planning and diversification advice with development projects, offering variety across landowners and estates.

MRICS candidates with rural experience will find opportunities to identify and deliver development opportunities while building client relationships.

Qualifications

• MRICS qualification with rural practice experience.
• Experience in estate management, strategic land or development consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of rural property and agricultural issues.
• Understanding of planning policy and rural development opportunities.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
• Commercial awareness and negotiation ability.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide estate management and rural professional advice to landowners, estates and farming clients.
• Manage landlord and tenant matters including rent reviews, lease renewals and tenancy negotiations.
• Advise on rural planning, diversification and development opportunities.
• Identify and appraise strategic land, residential, commercial and renewable energy projects.
• Undertake development appraisals and feasibility assessments.
• Negotiate option agreements, promotion agreements and overage arrangements.
• Support the sale and letting of rural property.
• Advise on grants, rural funding opportunities and compliance matters.
• Manage utility, infrastructure and compensation projects.
• Build long-term client relationships and contribute to business development activities across the region.
