About the Opportunity

Beach Baker are working with the Country Land and Business Association (CLA) to recruit a new Regional Adviser / Surveyor for their South West team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong technical knowledge of rural land and property issues to join a respected membership organisation that plays a key role in shaping rural policy and supporting landowners across the region.

The role is based in a beautiful countryside office near Chippenham and offers a varied and impactful workload, from advising members on planning and infrastructure to representing their interests in consultations and public forums.

Who Should Apply?

We're open-minded about background. While a Rural Surveyor would be ideal, we're also keen to hear from candidates with experience in planning, land management, or rural consultancy. You don't need to be a qualified surveyor, but you must bring:

  • Strong technical expertise in rural land/property issues
  • Confidence in client-facing roles and public speaking
  • Ability to deliver presentations and represent CLA professionally
  • A proactive, collaborative approach to problem-solving

Experience with infrastructure projects and compulsory purchase is a bonus.

Why Join CLA?

This is more than just a technical advisory role. You'll be part of a team influencing rural policy, supporting members through change, and helping shape the future of the countryside. You'll attend regional events, contribute to campaigns, and work closely with stakeholders across the South West.
