Job summary

Soho House in Frome is seeking a Runner to support kitchen and front-of-house teams, delivering food and drinks swiftly and keeping service areas clean and organized. You’ll assist the waiting staff and help ensure every member enjoys a superior experience, with proactive guest-facing service and attention to detail.

Polishing cutlery and preparing table additions, you may perform opening and closing procedures, attend meetings, and help manage service flow across the dining room.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years in a similar high-end dining environment.
• Excellent food and beverage knowledge, including wine service.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with a hands-on approach.
• Confident, polished, and professional demeanour.
• Familiarity with POS systems and reservation software.

Responsibilities

• Bring food/drink quickly from the kitchen/bar to its respective location in the restaurants and deliver to members.
• Maintain a spotless, pristine work environment.
• Provides service to and is accountable for an assigned section.
• Develop relationships with members to provide personalized service.
• Polishing cutlery ensuring they are ready for service.
• Preparing any additions to tables in advance (lemons, wraps, condiments, butter portions).
• Perform opening and closing procedures including setup and breakdown of stations.
• Ensure all service equipment is handled carefully and stored correctly.
• Attending regular meetings with front and back of house teams to learn about menu changes and tastings.

At Soho House, a Runner plays a vital supporting role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of service between the kitchen and front-of-house teams. As a key link in the dining experience, the Runner is responsible for delivering food and beverages promptly, maintaining cleanliness and organisation across the service areas. .
Your main responsibility is to assist the waiting staff and make sure the member gets a superior experience. You will deliver food orders from the kitchen (or drinks orders from the bar) to members’ tables, acting as a point of contact between the kitchen/bar and the floor.
