Job summary

Burberry is hiring a Senior RTR Accountant to join Burberry Business Services in Leeds on a fixed-term maternity cover. You will deliver accurate financial reporting, maintain strong controls and support end-to-end Record to Report processes across the business.

Working with Finance colleagues and external stakeholders, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure timely, compliant reporting for a global luxury brand during a critical transition period.

Qualifications

• Studying towards, or qualified in, a recognised professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or an equivalent.
• Relevant accounting experience, including practical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.
• Confident working with complex financial information, large data sets and advanced Excel models to identify meaningful trends and insights.
• Able to understand wider business considerations, provide clear functional guidance and build effective relationships across teams.
• Experience with SAP, BPC, multicurrency accounting, retail, FMCG or a shared services environment would be beneficial.
• A collaborative and thoughtful approach, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to financial control, continuous improvement and Burberry’s values.

Responsibilities

• Own the reconciliation, review and approval of Record to Report balances and manual journal adjustments.
• Prepare and review accurate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage assigned accounting processes from end to end, ensuring deadlines, controls and reporting requirements are met.
• Build trusted relationships with Group Finance, external auditors and other stakeholders, resolving issues collaboratively and responding to queries promptly.
• Support and guide direct reports through clear work reviews, regular feedback and day-to-day coaching.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen internal controls and deliver more effective ways of working.
