A recruitment agency in the United Kingdom is seeking an Attendance Officer to improve school attendance in Walsall. This role involves working with families and schools to address absenteeism, conducting home visits, and developing strategies for enhancing student participation. The ideal candidate should have experience with children and families, possess strong communication and organizational skills, and be confident in working independently. This is an exciting opportunity, to join the School Attendance Support Service. The School Attendance Support Service works with schools in Walsall to monitor and enforce regular attendance. We work closely with families and schools to understand and address the reasons for absences and develop strategies for improving attendance. We are looking for motivated, dynamic and ambitious Attendance Officers, someone that has strong organisational and communication skills as well as being a good team player. Successful applicants will support, to work with schools and families, to ensure that children are receiving an education and achieving their potential. As part of the attendance team, applicants will need to have experience within an educational setting and have experience with supporting attendance. Applicants will be expected to work independently, within a statutory framework and a graduated system with a restorative approach. Successful applicants will work closely with pupils, staff, parents, and carers to reduce levels of absence. This will involve home visits, parental meetings and supporting schools to raise participation of children and young people at risk of becoming persistently absent.
