Job Summary
This is an outstanding opportunity offered at Base Support Squadron, Royal Marines Base Chivenor which is both a varied and rewarding position. This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- The Storekeeper will carry out the daily maintenance of all RMB Chivenor Fire Fighting Equipment including the testing of the fire alarm systems.
- Enthusiasm and professional standards are essential to ensure that all the Fire extinguishers are correctly maintained and accurately recorded on the maintenance log.
- Working alongside a small team within a Warehouse Environment, you will also carry out general storekeeping duties including receipt and despatch of Naval Stores.
- The applicant will be responsible for the storage and maintenance of RMB Chivenor Fire Extinguishers. Primary responsibilities will be to conduct weekly Call Point Fire Alarm testing and ensure logs and registers are accurately maintained.
- You will receive essential training and mentoring on the Fire Alarm system and Extinguisher maintenance.

Qualifications and Application Requirements
- Full UK Driving License (No more than 6 Penalty Points)
- Personal Statement, 500 words, describing relevant experience

Salary and Pension
Alongside your salary of £26,390, the Ministry of Defence contributes £7,645 towards your membership of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
