Job summary

Angard Recruitment is recruiting for Royal Mail as a flexible Post Person with Driving, a temporary delivery driver role across Greater London. You will deliver letters and parcels in your community, combining van driving with on-foot delivery as needed.

You will need a full, manual UK driving licence (no more than 6 points) and be able to walk long distances, sometimes up to 20,000 steps a day, with bag weights up to 16kg. Shifts vary to fit business needs.

What We’re Looking For

• Driving Licence: Full, manual UK driving licence with no more than 6 points – you’ll be driving a Royal Mail van as part of your round.
• Physical Fitness: Be prepared to walk 20,000 steps a day, get in and out of your van regularly, and carry a mailbag weighing up to 16kg.
• Flexibility: Shifts can vary, so we need team players who can adapt at short notice.

Your Role

As a Post Person with Driving, you’ll be the face of Royal Mail in your community, ensuring letters and parcels are delivered come rain or shine. You’ll drive round your delivery area, completing parts of your route on foot, providing exceptional service and ensuring every item reaches its destination safely.

You’re expected to securely deliver all items on your route, including handling and delivering election materials and certain items (such as food products or alcohol) in line with Royal Mail business standards.

Important to Know

While large parts of the role involves walking, driving a Royal Mail delivery van is also a key requirement. This is a great opportunity for those who enjoy being outdoors and staying active throughout the day. Please note: you’ll be required to pass a driving assessment when you start.

Pay & Shifts

The table below outlines the pay rates applicable for roles within our Delivery Offices. The rates displayed are payable for the entirety of your shift where the shift description criteria is met.

Rates could be subject to change during busy periods, Angard staffing will communicate any change to your pay rates in advance.

Shift - Shift Description = Pay Rate

• Day Shift - Starts and finishes between 05:31 - 19:59 = £16.24 per hour
• Dawn Shift - Starts between 02:01 - 04:00 = £17.16 per hour
• Early 0500 Shift - Starts between 04:01 - 05:00 = £17.16 per hour
• Early 0530 Shift - Starts between 05:01 - 05:30 = £17.16 per hour
• Evening Shift - Finishes between 20:00 - 21:39 = £16.93 per hour
• Lates Shift - Finishes between 21:40 - 01:59 = £17.70 per hour
• Night Shift - Three hours worked across 23:00 - 05:00 = £19.00 per hour
