Job summary

Angard Recruitment is seeking a Post Person with Driving for Royal Mail in Narberth, Wales. You will drive a Royal Mail van across your round and deliver items on foot, staying active and providing friendly service to the community.

This temporary role offers varied shifts, with potential for permanency and a competitive pay structure. Training is provided, and you will represent Royal Mail in your local area.

Qualifications

• Full, manual UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Ability to walk long distances (up to 20,000 steps per day) with a mailbag weighing up to 16kg.

Responsibilities

• Deliver letters and parcels across your delivery area, combining driving and on-foot delivery.
• Securely deliver all items on your route and handle election materials and restricted items per Royal Mail standards.

What We’re Looking For

• Driving Licence: Full, manual UK driving licence with no more than 6 points – you’ll be driving a Royal Mail van as part of your round.
• Physical Fitness: Be prepared to walk 20,000 steps a day, get in and out of your van regularly, and carry a mailbag weighing up to 16kg.
• Flexibility: Shifts can vary, so we need team players who can adapt at short notice.

Your Role

As a Post Person with Driving, you’ll be the face of Royal Mail in your community, ensuring letters and parcels are delivered come rain or shine. You’ll drive round your delivery area, completing parts of your route on foot, providing exceptional service and ensuring every item reaches its destination safely.

You’re expected to securely deliver all items on your route, including handling and delivering election materials and certain items (such as food products or alcohol) in line with Royal Mail business standards.

Important to Know

While large parts of the role involves walking, driving a Royal Mail delivery van is also a key requirement. This is a great opportunity for those who enjoy being outdoors and staying active throughout the day. Please note: you’ll be required to pass a driving assessment when you start.

Pay & Shifts

The table below outlines the pay rates applicable for roles within our Delivery Offices. The rates displayed are payable for the entirety of your shift where the shift description criteria is met.

Rates could be subject to change during busy periods, Angard staffing will communicate any change to your pay rates in advance.
