Job summary

Angard Staffing Solutions Ltd is recruiting for flexible Royal Mail delivery drivers in the United Kingdom. You will drive a Royal Mail van on your route and also walk portions of your rounds to ensure timely, secure deliveries.

The role is temporary, with shifts varying by day and time, and requires a valid UK full driving licence and good physical fitness. Shifts run across day, dawn, early, evening, late, and night slots with pay rates applicable to each shift.

Qualifications

• Valid full UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Physically able to walk long distances and carry mail bags up to 16kg.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts and adapt to routes as required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver letters and parcels by van and on foot within your delivery area.
• Safely operate a Royal Mail delivery van and complete route parts on foot as needed.
• Deliver election materials and restricted items in line with Royal Mail standards, staying active outdoors.

What We’re Looking For

• Driving Licence: Full, manual UK driving licence with no more than 6 points – you’ll be driving a Royal Mail van as part of your round.
• Physical Fitness: Be prepared to walk 20,000 steps a day, get in and out of your van regularly, and carry a mailbag weighing up to 16kg.
• Flexibility: Shifts can vary, so we need team players who can adapt at short notice.

Your Role

As a Post Person with Driving, you’ll be the face of Royal Mail in your community, ensuring letters and parcels are delivered come rain or shine. You’ll drive round your delivery area, completing parts of your route on foot, providing exceptional service and ensuring every item reaches its destination safely.

You’re expected to securely deliver all items on your route, including handling and delivering election materials and certain items (such as food products or alcohol) in line with Royal Mail business standards.

Important to Know

While large parts of the role involves walking, driving a Royal Mail delivery van is also a key requirement. This is a great opportunity for those who enjoy being outdoors and staying active throughout the day. Please note: you’ll be required to pass a driving assessment when you start.

The table below outlines the pay rates applicable for roles within our Delivery Offices. The rates displayed are payable for the entirety of your shift where the shift description criteria is met.

Rates could be subject to change during busy periods, Angard staffing will communicate any change to your pay rates in advance.
