Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking flexible delivery drivers for Glasgow G20 & G23 Delivery Offices. You will deliver letters and parcels, drive a Royal Mail van, and occasionally deliver on foot as part of your round. The role involves outdoor activity and a focus on community service in your delivery area.

Shifts vary, with guaranteed hours during peak periods and competitive hourly rates. You’ll be the face of Royal Mail in your neighbourhood, upholding safety and service standards every day.

Qualifications

• Ability to walk long distances and carry bags up to 16 kg.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts and adapt at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver letters and parcels across the Glasgow area, driving a Royal Mail van and sometimes delivering on foot.

What We're Looking For

Driving Licence: Full, manual UK driving licence with no more than 6 points � you'll be driving a Royal Mail van as part of your round.

Physical Fitness: Be prepared to walk 20,000 steps a day, get in and out of your van regularly, and carry a mailbag weighing up to 16kg.

Flexibility: Shifts can vary, so we need team players who can adapt at short notice.

Your Role

As a Post Person with Driving, you'll be the face of Royal Mail in your community, ensuring letters and parcels are delivered come rain or shine. You'll drive round your delivery area, completing parts of your route on foot, providing exceptional service and ensuring every item reaches its destination safely.

You're expected to securely deliver all items on your route, including handling and delivering election materials and certain items (such as food products or alcohol) in line with Royal Mail business standards.

Important to Know

While large parts of the role involves walking, driving a Royal Mail delivery van is also a key requirement. This is a great opportunity for those who enjoy being outdoors and staying active throughout the day. Please note: you'll be required to pass a driving assessment when you start.

Pay & Shifts

The table below outlines the pay rates applicable for roles within our Delivery Offices. The rates displayed are payable for the entirety of your shift where the shift description criteria is met.

Rates could be subject to change during busy periods, Angard staffing will communicate any change to your pay rates in advance.

Guaranteed Hours: From 2nd November to 24th December - guaranteed minimum of 20 hours per week

Day Shift - Starts and finishes between 05:31 - 19:59 =

£16.24 per hour

Dawn Shift - Starts between 02:01 - 04:00 =

£17.16 per hour

Early 0500 Shift - Starts between 04:01 - 05:00 =

£17.16 per hour

Early 0530 Shift - Starts between 05:01 - 05:30 =

£17.16 per hour

Evening Shift - Finishes between 20:00 - 21:39 =

£16.93 per hour

Lates Shift - Finishes between 21:40 - 01:59 =

£17.70 per hour

Night Shift - Three hours worked across 23:00 - 05:00 =

£19.00 per hour

While this is a temporary role, there may be potential for it to become permanent.
