Job summary

Royal Mail is recruiting flexible (temporary) postal delivery drivers to serve communities. As a Post Person with Driving, you will deliver letters and parcels, driving a Royal Mail van and walking parts of your route to provide outstanding service.

Role involves walking, outdoor work, and delivering election materials in line with standards. A driving assessment is required on start and shifts vary to fit business needs.

Qualifications

• Full, manual UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Ability to walk ~20,000 steps a day, exit/enter a van, and carry a mailbag up to 16kg.
• Shifts vary; must be able to adapt at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver letters and parcels in the local community, driving the Royal Mail van and occasionally walking parts of your route.
• Securely deliver all items on your route and handle election materials and certain items (food/alcohol) per business standards.
• Pass a driving assessment on start and provide a high level of customer service.

What We’re Looking For

• Driving Licence: Full, manual UK driving licence with no more than 6 points – you’ll be driving a Royal Mail van as part of your round.
• Physical Fitness: Be prepared to walk 20,000 steps a day, get in and out of your van regularly, and carry a mailbag weighing up to 16kg.
• Flexibility: Shifts can vary, so we need team players who can adapt at short notice.

Your Role

As a Post Person with Driving, you’ll be the face of Royal Mail in your community, ensuring letters and parcels are delivered come rain or shine. You’ll drive round your delivery area, completing parts of your route on foot, providing exceptional service and ensuring every item reaches its destination safely.

You’re expected to securely deliver all items on your route, including handling and delivering election materials and certain items (such as food products or alcohol) in line with Royal Mail business standards.

Important to Know

Pay & Shifts

The table below outlines the pay rates applicable for roles within our Delivery Offices. The rates displayed are payable for the entirety of your shift where the shift description criteria is met.

Rates could be subject to change during busy periods, Angard staffing will communicate any change to your pay rates in advance.
