Job summary

Angard Staffing Solutions Ltd is hiring for Royal Mail delivery drivers in the Blackburn area. You will be the face of Royal Mail in your community, delivering letters and parcels by van and on foot across your round, with a focus on reliable, friendly service.

Roles are temporary with potential for permanency. A full UK manual driving licence with up to 6 points is required, along with the stamina to walk long distances and adapt to changing shifts. Training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Full, manual UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Able to walk 20,000 steps daily and carry a mailbag up to 16kg.
• Flexible shifts and team player.

What We’re Looking For

• Driving Licence: Full, manual UK driving licence with no more than 6 points – you’ll be driving a Royal Mail van as part of your round.
• Physical Fitness: Be prepared to walk 20,000 steps a day, get in and out of your van regularly, and carry a mailbag weighing up to 16kg.
• Flexibility: Shifts can vary, so we need team players who can adapt at short notice.

Your Role

As a Post Person with Driving, you’ll be the face of Royal Mail in your community, ensuring letters and parcels are delivered come rain or shine. You’ll drive round your delivery area, completing parts of your route on foot, providing exceptional service and ensuring every item reaches its destination safely.

You’re expected to securely deliver all items on your route, including handling and delivering election materials and certain items (such as food products or alcohol) in line with Royal Mail business standards.

Important to Know

While large parts of the role involves walking, driving a Royal Mail delivery van is also a key requirement. This is a great opportunity for those who enjoy being outdoors and staying active throughout the day. Please note: you’ll be required to pass a driving assessment when you start.

Pay & Shifts

The table below outlines the pay rates applicable for roles within our Delivery Offices. The rates displayed are payable for the entirety of your shift where the shift description criteria is met.

Rates could be subject to change during busy periods, Angard staffing will communicate any change to your pay rates in advance.

• Dawn Shift STARTS BETWEEN 0201 – 0400 £14.61
• Early 0500 STARTS BETWEEN 0401 – 0500 £14.61
• Early 0530 STARTS BETWEEN 0501 – 0530 £14.61
• Evening FINISHES BETWEEN 2000 – 2139 £14.38
• Lates FINISHES BETWEEN 2140 – 0159 £15.14
• Nights THREE HOURS ACROSS 2300 – 0500 £16.44

While this is a temporary role, there may be potential for it to become permanent.
