Job summary

Angard Staffing Solutions Ltd is recruiting for Royal Mail to join as a Post Person with Driving. In this flexible temporary role, you will drive a Royal Mail van across your delivery area, delivering letters and parcels and occasionally walking parts of your route.

You must hold a full manual UK driving licence with no more than six points, be physically fit to walk long distances and lift mailbags, and be flexible to varying shifts.

Qualifications

• Be physically fit to walk long distances (up to 20,000 steps daily) and lift mailbags up to 16 kg.
• Shifts can vary; must be flexible to adapt at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Handle election materials and other items in line with Royal Mail standards.

What We’re Looking For

• Driving Licence: Full, manual UK driving licence with no more than 6 points – you’ll be driving a Royal Mail van as part of your round.
• Physical Fitness: Be prepared to walk 20,000 steps a day, get in and out of your van regularly, and carry a mailbag weighing up to 16kg.
• Flexibility: Shifts can vary, so we need team players who can adapt at short notice.

Your Role

As a Post Person with Driving, you’ll be the face of Royal Mail in your community, ensuring letters and parcels are delivered come rain or shine. You’ll drive round your delivery area, completing parts of your route on foot, providing exceptional service and ensuring every item reaches its destination safely.

You’re expected to securely deliver all items on your route, including handling and delivering election materials and certain items (such as food products or alcohol) in line with Royal Mail business standards.

Important to Know

While large parts of the role involves walking, driving a Royal Mail delivery van is also a key requirement. This is a great opportunity for those who enjoy being outdoors and staying active throughout the day. Please note: you’ll be required to pass a driving assessment when you start.

The table below outlines the pay rates applicable for roles within our Delivery Offices. The rates displayed are payable for the entirety of your shift where the shift description criteria is met.

Rates could be subject to change during busy periods, Angard staffing will communicate any change to your pay rates in advance.
