Job summary

King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Speech and Language Therapist (Band 5) for a rotational post across Stroke, Medicine and Neuro-rehabilitation with 9-month placements on each site. You will rotate through clinical areas, deliver SLT services, and engage in supervision and CPD within a proactive acute inpatient team.

The post operates a 7-day, extended hours service across PRUH and Orpington Hospital sites.

Qualifications

• BSc or recognised postgraduate MSc or diploma in Speech & Language Therapy.
• Registration with the HCPC.
• Member of RCSLT.

Responsibilities

• Provide detailed assessment and management for autonomous caseload.
• Participate in covering other parts of the SLT service and sites.
• Provide information, training and support to relatives and carers.
• Attend and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and take minutes as required.
• Liaise with community SLTs on patient discharge from KCH.
• Provide timely transfer and discharge reports in medical notes as appropriate.
• Undertake the key worker role if required.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per KCH policies.
• Provide a 7-day, extended hours flexible service as appropriate.
