Job summary

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust offers a rotational Specialist Physiotherapist post based at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and The Princess Royal Hospital in Telford. The role provides opportunities to grow specialist clinical knowledge and leadership within rotations across Trauma and Orthopaedics, acute Surgery, Respiratory, Acute Medicine, Cardiology and Frailty.

Qualifications

• Prior NHS experience is required to apply for this role.
• Experience in Physiotherapy in an acute hospital setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose/interpret and manage own specialist caseload of complex patients.
• Engage in own learning to develop self and service.
• Participate or lead on projects to develop services.
• Provide learning opportunities for others including band 5's, assistant practitioners and students.
• Participation in respiratory physiotherapy on-call rota.
• Work closely with Care Groups to deliver a cohesive, user-led service.
• To work with team leads and senior therapists to ensure robust training, supervision and appraisal.
• Act as a source of specialist advice and support within the Therapy Centre and across the Trust.
