If you're an ambitious and forward‑thinking individual seeking to enhance your clinical expertise while honing your management skills, then this position is tailor‑made for you.

When you join the Trust you will be welcomed by a friendly and supportive team that will support you throughout your career.

If career progression is high on your priority list, we offer numerous specialised roles in our department at level 8A and above, including paediatrics, antimicrobials, education and training, critical care, renal medicine, and biologics and homecare. We also offer support to colleagues who are interested in completing the Independent Prescribing qualification.

As one of South West London's largest teaching hospitals, we provide an opportunity to expand your clinical knowledge. Our status as an Acute Trust ensures exposure to a diverse range of medical conditions, allowing pharmacists to develop a breadth of clinical expertise. Additionally, we host the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre and a dedicated paediatric hospital at St Helier, providing valuable experience with a broad patient population.

Main duties of the job

As a Senior Rotational Clinical Pharmacist, you will work across a number of different rotations, including critical care, paediatrics, surgery and a variety of medical specialties. Your daily responsibilities will encompass ward‑based tasks, chart reviews, clinical interventions, partnership with the medical team to optimise medication regimens, patient education on medications, screening of discharge prescriptions, and support for junior or trainee pharmacists.

You will take the lead in conducting audits and driving quality improvement initiatives.

During six‑monthly rotations you will provide a comprehensive pharmaceutical service, working towards expert level knowledge. You will also develop managerial skills and expertise through agreed objectives.

This position is full‑time (37.5 hours per week) and may include seven‑day working and on‑call rotas. We also welcome applications for part‑time, job‑share or flexible working arrangements.
