Job Summary

We're looking for an ambitious individual who will be a crucial part of the Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Band 5 Physio Rotation. You will participate in 6‑month rotations and have an excellent platform to broaden your skills across acute and community services. Working patterns may be Monday – Friday or a 7‑day roster; the post holder will also take on the on‑call rota once competent.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will provide a high‑standard Physiotherapy service across acute and community environments, working closely with senior Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. You will receive regular supervision, peer support, annual PDR and access to in‑service training.

Job Responsibilities
  • Plan and organise efficient and effective patient management within your area.
  • Maintain and develop clinical professional knowledge (CPD), keeping abreast of new trends.
  • Prioritise work in line with team and NHS priorities.
  • Deliver accurate assessment, diagnosis, and prognosis for a wide range of conditions and recommend interventions.
  • Formulate, deliver and review individual physiotherapy treatment programmes based on evidence‑based practice.
  • Organise caseloads and allocate time effectively.
  • Support, supervise and develop physiotherapy assistants, students and junior staff.
  • Communicate patient information and treatment plans effectively with multidisciplinary teams and patients/carers.
  • Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date documentation and report findings to relevant disciplines.
  • Collect and analyse data to improve physiotherapy service delivery.
  • Assist in policy development and implement quality improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to health & safety regulations and report incidents promptly.

Essential Experience
  • Working experience in diverse settings and managing a range of conditions.
  • Experience of a broad range of physiotherapy interventions.
  • Experience leading a caseload under supervision.
  • Prior NHS or UK healthcare experience (paid or voluntary).
Essential Qualification
  • Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy.
  • HCPC Registered.

  • Wide knowledge of medical and surgical conditions and their physiotherapy management.
  • Professional ethics and clinical governance principles.
