A public health organization in Stockport is seeking a Principal Pharmacist for Clinical Services to ensure effective clinical pharmacy service across various wards. Responsibilities include providing training, coordinating daily activities, and managing medications. Applicants must have current GPhC registration and experience in NHS clinical pharmacy. The position offers a competitive salary between £46,148 to £52,809, with benefits like annual leave, salary sacrifice schemes, and flexible working options.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that medicine reconciliations, on the assigned wards, are completed as soon as possible after admission. They will also be responsible for ensuring discharge prescriptions are dealt with quickly and efficiently, responding to medicines information queries and conducting audits
The rotational pharmacist will rotate through each speciality every 12 months.
To prescribe if appropriate for patients within the job holder's level of competence.
To provide, deliver and develop the clinical pharmacy service in accordance with agreed objectives
To co-ordinate the day to day activities in the assigned area
To act as a role model for clinical pharmacy practice and to provide training for medical, nursing and pharmacy staff.
To prescribe as appropriate for patients (including discharge prescriptions) within the job holder's level of competence

To support the Lead Pharmacist with issues relating to pharmaceutical care within the Business Group

To be able to plan and organise own and others workload
To be able to prioritise and meet set deadlines particularly when under pressure.
To act as tutor for the trainee pharmacist when they are working on the ward
To manage technicians and band 6 pharmacists when working on the wards

If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £54.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary
In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £16.
