Job summary

Responsibilities
  • Dispense prescriptions for in-patients and out-patients and carry out final checks in accordance with the department’s accreditation scheme.
  • Participate in all dispensary activities as designated by the Pharmacy technician team manager, patient services or their deputy.
  • Assist with the “topping-up” service supplying stocks of medicinal products to wards and departments and participate in the ‘non-stock’ top up service to one stop wards.
  • Assist with purchasing as required according to departmental procedures and as per the departmental rota.
  • Counsel and provide information to patients/carers collecting their medication from the dispensary, according to procedures; provide information about prescription payment, exemption, and further supplies as well.
Compensation and Benefits

In addition, you will receive a High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £4,552 and a maximum payment of £5,735 per annum pro rata.
